at this point, you have not understand yet, that the problem is not the thermostat, but a defect in the way the unit is designed?

you stick again on the one yr warranty.  On that subject (which is totally irrelevant to this problem) the note was that for one day,  anyway, that says it all....

But, if you want to reply in a smart way, understand the problem clearly:

The way the unit is built, cause the snow to get in behind the control, which cause to  the thermostat to fry.  The solution: fix the problem in the design of the unit.  No snow behind the control, no more fried thermostat (then you do not need to waste anymore time arguing for nothing about the warranty on the thermostat (oops, did I forget to mention the issue is not a defect in the thermostat)?

Simply put, the design of the unit cause the problem!

Sooooo.....let me get this strait. You knew what caused the failure after the warranty had expired, yet choose not to stuff a piece of insulation or cardboard, or SOMETHING to prevent further issues?

And just so you know, I owned a Pro Series 100 for 1 heating season. I bought it when it was 6 months old and Empire bent their rules and transferred their warranty for me.
It was a great little boiler. I had a few issues with it and my Empyre dealer promptly addressed them. I accidentally melted the silicone seal in the door and they even sent me a whole new door.
Had the primary burn chamber been a bit larger on it, I'd still own it. The unit was just too small for the sparsely insulated corncrib that I call home.

Go to Graingers and order a new controller, install it, and plug the hole so it doesn't grenade again!!!

i still have warranty  but with profab it doesn't mean nothing.

there is a defect with the unit and they won't honor their warranty.

Frankus, we understand your frustration, just like the guy who bashed shaver a few months ago, you can only beat a dead horse just so long, you might find that if you chose your words a bit better, people would be more willing to help but calling a mans stove a piece of crap is not the way to get help

Frankus,

I think we all understand your problem. I have no idea how you approached profab with your concerns about the design causing the problem but if you approached them like your approached this forum I am going to go out on a limb and say that they probably came to the conclusion that you can't satisfy every customer.  As the old adage goes, you catch my flies with honey than vinegar. Why didn't you address the problem yourself after it happened the first time and they didn't replace the thermostat? Just replacing the thermostat wasn't going to fix the underlying issue, it was just going to replace it until it happened again. First time shame on them, second time shame on you.

When i told my dealer what happen the first time back in feb 2013, he gave a new thermostat and said he's gonna let me know if profab will honour their product. Never heard nothing from him till this nov 2013 when his wife told me he passed away(god bless his soul)  and that i had to pay for the thermostat. Profab was notify by my dealer and denied any responsibilities. I didn't even talk with them after the first time only my dealer did.  So the way i approach  this is with truth and honesty. After i talk to  the warranty department at profab 2 weeks ago and explain the issue  i was told they feel for me because they are consumer as well but they are not gonna honor their product.

How much did it cost you for the new aquastat?

I can only assume that they told you that they are a 'consumer' too because the aquastat that failed was a third party electronic item that they had purchased as a consumer and installed on their product. When in fact a flaw in the design of the product causes the product to fail over and over. Also on a side note, you didn't talk to the fact that you did not remedy the issue knowing full well what caused the issue.

yes honda, i did . like i said before, after reading  in a forum that someone had the same problem as me and what he did was to caulk the plate where the thermostat sits,so this is what i did and told my dealer and thought problem fix. But when it happen the second time this is when i notice that it really came from the roof line.As for the aquastat it came straight from the dealer so i don't know where he got it but it was exactly the same one.

honestly, the unit is has a few flaws in term of tightness, when you bend down and look at those grove under the roof line, there is lots space ,1/2 inch and up in some instance.  .

As a consumer i'm entitle to my opinion. I defend what i know is right and never step on anybody's toes.
when i buy a good product i let my friend know and vice versa.
when i buy a bad product and i feel i'm being ripped off, i let them know and my friend do the same.
to me honor and respect is more important than money.

Very disappointing when you see that the manufacturer does not want to admit there is a defect.

You obviously have a bad taste in your mouth, I am not in any way affiliated with them but again I wll say that the dispute could have been handled much better, lets see Karl K and Marty from Mich have both had issues with thier P+M 250's and instead of bashing us as a manufacturer they both have tried to help us resolve issues with our units, Thanks guys, you will be taken care of for your input, this is what helps this industry

Slim, again from a previous post, i tried and explain the problem on the phone to their warranty department(sharon). it is much easier to explain and detailed the problem on the phone, all she said after my story was the line that she feels as a consumer and it's got nothing to do with profab it's electronics 1 year blablabla and  then the phone hang up but not from my side.

I never was  angry or using bad language. when there is no way to make someone consider her decision then i assume that she showed her true color.

honestly i don't think my furnace is all that bad other than the defect about not being i would say "snow tight".

that they basically tell me that if snow get behind the aquastat is an eletronic problem i don't bite it and never will.
