I need some input. I am looking to buy a wood furnace. I am sort of familiar with central boiler, our neighbor has one. I would like to buy one close to my needs. I want one that will run when the power is off. I also don't know how big to go. 3500 square ft house to start maybe a 30 x 80 shop in the future. I want quality of course. We burn wood for heat  in two stoves in the house right now.  Thoughts or suggestions?

There are obviously companies who build junk IMO.  I think most importantly is to find a good dealer, that is the most important part.  Good dealers aren't everywhere and it's important to find one that knows his stuff and moves enough product to be able to help you when something goes wrong.

There won't be many owb companies left here in a few years due to increased cost and regulations do choose wisely

IMO. The first thing you need to decide is Gasser VS Non-Gasser. Start by finding out what your State and local laws are. Then start looking at companies. There are a lot of reviews on here that should help you decide the quality vs cost of any given company. Good luck!

Welcome to the site!...Well buying theses OWB's is like buying a car..So many brands as listed on this forum..Not sure where you live..Some states like mine require epa phase 2..One guy will tell you this "brand" is the way to go..Next guy won't.. Look at warranty's, etc.. .Far as power wise..They all need power to run..Happy shopping!
