Moth Balls as a wood stove pipe cleaner?

 Bought some moth balls today..Looked it up on wikipedia..Wikipedia mentioned one use as a as a stove pipe cleaner..Anyone out there throw them in for creosote? From other sites as well I guess its one use.. I didn't buy them for stove pipe cleaning..

don't know about cleaning the flue with them but the nieighbours wont mind if you make a little smoke if it smells nice ^-^

I've never heard of using moth balls but a friend of mine swears that if you throw a couple of beer cans in a fireplace it will break up all of the creosote in the chimney.  Something about a chemical reaction when aluminum melts?

TSP ( tri-sodium phosphate) works well. It is the active ingredient in commercial creosote removers. Paint stores carry it.
