I think you are right woodman, the house at 75* and long hot showers takes a little more wood but it is still cheaper than electric, gas, oil, or propane

yeah that's right. I also agree with you Bull.. that the house is at 75 I guess....

Still burning here in illinois since November '11, keeping that hot water warm! Gave the propane folks enough money the year I didnt have the stove, so i figure ill burn 24/7/365 if I can. I feel like I go through a lot of wood as well, but I guess like everyone else is saying each situation is unique, depending on what type of wood you burn, how dry it is, how insulated your lines/house is etc.... doesnt matter much to me its free and good exercise no matter how much I burn lol

I have been burning my HF-60 for 3 years straight now. I load it once every 4 days in the winter and once every 3 weeks in the summer for hot water. I bypass right to the 10 plate heat exchanger and right back out to the boiler with only 1 degree of heat loss when no hot water is being used. This wood boiler made it possible to afford to heat my 5200 sq ft

You heat 5200 sq ft and only have to load once every 4 days in the winter and 3 weeks in the summer?  How is that even possible?!?

I just did a search and found a thread on here about them. Looks like they were made by CB. Similar to a classic. I run a 5036 with a very well insulated house and get 24-36 hour burn times. I can not imagine how a fire would burn for four days. Hell, I would forget to load the damn thing.

I was wondering if someone was eating dream sickles to be able to heat a 5200 sq. ft. house and only have to load it every 4 days or if it took a BIG truck load to fill it. LOL
