patio brick for base
« on: September 22, 2012, 11:41:05 AM »

Hi guys This is my first post on the site. I have been watching and learning since last year.  Great site! I have a Question for everyone. Has anybody used patio block for a base? I have Jest bought a ml30 portage & main furnace and want to get it installed quickly before it gets cold. Any ideas would be helpful. Also I may have to install the core in the return side of the plenum instead of the supply. Anyone doing this?  Thanks

Yes you can install on the return side of the furnace, often timed I make another place for a filter right before the air enters the coil so you aren't running unfiltered air through it.

4" cap block are fairly common, I don't like doing it that way but some people have to.  The thinner patio block would make a bigger foot print but only using 1 layer might be to weak.
