Guys what are your thoughts if i would put like a 300 gallon very well insulated tank next to my stove( which inside now in a old building with my 75 loads of wood next to it)  anyways if i would put the tank there and spray foam insulate tank like 6-8 thick.  then use my one port on empyre to pump water through tank and circulate it back into stove.  would give me 500 gallons capacity of 180 degree water.. do you think it would work?

The most efficient boilers on the market today don't worry about water capacity.  For years the euro gassers would use batch burns and store all the heat in mass storage

Now you have it going the other way, like the empyre elite series, they've pretty much reached the max on efficiency and have 60-110 gallons of water

But in regards to will it work, sort of yea.  But you can't just circulate it direct, it would take a while of your stove roaring to get that tank hot.  Your stove would be sweating like a pig inside the firebox and that's a recipe for disaster.  If you had the tank on it's own loop with a plate exchanger it would likely be safer.

ya your right... just wanted to see opinions.  take a long time to get that 300 gallon tank warmed up... well wont be doing this then... always appreciate the input

Or should i just make new ones myself?  Only part that is bad is around the fire blow  holes.  all back part is good.. original holes were like 5/16.  now there 1/2 or better,

Yea..  I want to look at the part, that's why iwas wanting the numbers, because the new ones aren't made like that and I wanted to make sure I wasn't telling you to patch something that could cause an issue

I heard a guy put a 100 gal water heater tank in his basement used for added water storage to his system and he claimed it cut his wood usage down a noticable differance.

Folks claim a lot of things, often times when people think they have a great idea and they try it, they'd never ever admit if it didn't work.  That would be a direct insult to there own intelligence.
