Need help with new pump
« on: January 15, 2013, 09:34:07 PM »

I need to replace a pump from the back of my boiler that finally died on me.  It was bought new at the beginning of this heating season.  Can anyone provide me input as to what to look for in a pump in case this one is not covered by a warranty?

get one of equal head and flow (if this one is the proper one)

if the pump you have is not up for the job then you need to figure out your head loss and desired gpm and size your pump to those requirments

What is the model of the pump you have and how well did it work? Did you ever notice excessive temperature drop in the return water? If it was doing well then a similar size pump will be fine.

Just wanted to put this out there foe people. I have a single loop 10ft. High is my highest point. I have a bell and gossett pump. NRF-22. I am getting somewhere around 5 gal per min. So far it is working. My return line is warm so I am getting most of the heat out of my boiler. I am keeping my tank temp anywhere from 140 to 170.
