What's the best bang for the buck on a aquastat on a homemade unit ? Where's best place to get one from ?

johnson A-419, available in either 24 or 120 volt, digital display, accurate to within 1 degree, normally open and normally closed terminals, available anywhere plumbing and heating is sold, around 65 dollars, HOWS THAT

You may use a brass well if you wish but most manufacturers simply weld a well ( I think 3/8 tube steel ) to the side of the water jacket, this means less holes, less chances for leaks, silicone the ends and connect the leads. Oh  I almost forgot you can also use it as a hard wired monitor or control with thermostat wire up to 500 feet away from the probe
