Plate exchanger fittings

Hi, I thought I would start over on my last post since it got off track a bit. Now that I know how to redo my plate exchanger for my hot water. Can someone show me what is the best fittings to use so it can be removed and cleaned in the future?  It helps to see what others are doing that know best. Thanks.

If plumbed properly there is no need for taking the heat exchanger off for cleaning, I would however suggest using brass copper by female pipe unions on all 4 ports for easy removal. Be ready for sticker shock, they retail for about $55- each.

Hmm, there are obviously many different ways.  But I have nothing special on mine in regards to ease of removal, but with that being said I could remove it, clean it, and reinstall it in 20mins total labor.  It's not to hard to cut cpvc and stainless rings on pex...   

I know there are better ways of doing it than how mine is set up, but when you start talkin $200 bucks in fittings, that's a lot

If you have it connected with pex, just use swivel fittings. No need to cut anything and can be removed easily.

You could also use dielectric unions if you are going to copper. They are about $6 each.
