No electric here. All I know is I bought 150 gal of fuel oil in Nov 2010 and just used that up this month. I figure oil savings of around $6500 over that time. My self installed OWB cost about $6500 to purchase and install. As I see it, its all profit from here on!

Electric use can depend on your system, size and situation. For us, a smaller house with no a.c. we have propane dryer and stove so in fall when my floor heat starts to run my electric bill goes up with the pumps running and less hours of light so it stays that way all winter. Not complaining, we like boiling water to heat the house with wood, it does cost a bit to run all our pumps though payoff is comfort and no propane truck for a few years at a time. Was 3 degrees F this morning with a 20 mph wind, house 74.

Nope, we just sit around till we can't see each other then go to bed... :o

Little or no electricity involved in my heating. Just running a few circulation pumps. 2 zone pumps for hydronic baseboards that would run anyway if using oil, 1 pump from OWB to plate exchanger, and 1 pump between exchanger and oil boiler. Heats the house and DHW. Have an 80 gal electric hot water heater that is turned off that acts as a storage tank for DHW. NEVER run out of hot water! Had overnight visitors this weekend...10 showers on Sat. morning while doing wash AND running the dishwasher!!

Yes, we do have electricity... ;D
