okay had a LP boiler that went out, so have to replace my boiler. now this house did originally have a wood boiler, but removed and lines looped into heat exchanger. So looking to replace the lp with wood boiler , But as you all know its like shoppin for cars, chev, ford, dodge,   P&M, Heatmor, hawken, CB.. just to name a few. seems like they all have their issues from leaking to cleaning nightmare. now it might be because not many sold or this site doesn't have many P&M users but not seeing much on them, I know the 44 model I was quoted was around 9grand, which for a non gasser seemed high. but all their salesmen are at the same price. So with my 4300 Sq ft home and eventually my 3 1/2 car shop. So any help would be great,

best advice I could give is to read on here and read a lot

everyone will spout the brand they bought but you have to form your own ipionions and pick what features is right for you

Gahanson, thanks for the inquiry, where are you at, do you need an EPA certified unit, the B-L series is not, they are doing a great job in the midwest for that reason as well as the way they are constructed, look them over closely and compare, I will not speak badly of any boiler but the P+M B-L series in my opinion has it right for a conventional boiler

 Local dealer that services and has a good rep is a big plus for most. Many conventionals operate in the same fashion and interchange basic parts like pumps, fans and aquastats. There are regulations in some areas possibly preventing you from running a conventional, if that's the case then you already ruled out a bunch of models. You know what your sq. foot is that you want to heat so whichever manufacturer you choose there will only be a few models that will fit your demand, bigger is not necessarily better, find the right size for your application.

Ever think about a indoor wood boiler? you could install in basement, shop or a grauge (can not spell). if you are interested look into www.nationalstoveworks.com they are a pressurized system with a 20 year non pro rated warranty....you can buy them in a insulated jacket or non insulated....I have tim the owners cell  number if you would like to talk to him directly. they are a lot of good boilers out there,but the main thing is how you keep up on the maintence cleaning them and so on....
