Illinois is getting hammered with snow again.     Might need a bigger  tractor and snow blower pretty soon

And...when you're done with Jack's, head over to Michigan. We've got about 7" since 3am.

I was going to suggest that Jack put a blade on that chivee and head my way, but I doubt it would make it this far! ;D ;D >:D

Sure!  But I kinda figure by the time you drive it out there the snow will be all gone and grass will be green.  But you'll be warm.   ;D

Just for curiosity's sake, what is the average rent per acre there?
It's getting very expensive to farm up here!

All depends, I have some free ground actually planted to hay, steep enough some have messed with it in the past and usually don't show up the next year. Old guy won't let me pay him anything for it so I just bumped his rent up on the 54 acres of tillable I also rent from him. Cheapest ground I actually pay for $80/acre, another hay field, owners want no pesticides or herbicides used but have no problems with fertilizer so i planted leaf hopper resistant alfalfa on it. The rest is between $125 acre for what can be droughty ground up to 225 for ground that's never had a crop failure. Heard tales of some ground in the area that already has center pivot irrigation going as high as $500/acre for seed corn.

I wouldn't mind Indiana at least my taxes would be a lot cheaper   I should that's where I've been working the last three years
