Slim, the pic with no sides is from last fall and the pic with sides is a couple months ago. 8 inches on the ground now.

8 inches? So why no snow on the ground?

Slogged thru some almost hip deep stuff in the woods last weekend cutting wood.

-Yeah, when it`s  a really cold blowing snow Its like not even having a roof over the wood without the sides on. With the front closed in like that I thought I would be good to go.  It helped alot but when the snow is going sideways Its getting in there. Thats when I put the mesh tarp on and that really limited the amount that got in.  With the  sides and front on it dosent look like a carport, thats the best part.

Looks like a little garage to be honest. I'm going to cover my next one, half the corrosion I have on my home built one is more from rain I think than actually burning wood.

Soon as I stick a post in the ground here it gets taxed. I'm going to built racks that hold half a cord each and place em under the roof with the yard lift.

Never heard the term crush and run, must be a granulated or something. I got some road grindings and put in mine after the top soil was removed.

For those concerned about my snow on the ground, old pics just showing what I have, I`ll take some pics today and post.LOL

Pics from yesterday 2-15-14. you can see mesh tarp on front ....you can see snow on the ground,at least 8" although it dosen`t look it in the pic. and you can see I need to transfer some more wood in to the shed. Have some drying inside in a couple places on wagons and trailers ready to move.

Well it looks I'm late to the party with this question. I'm looking at doing a carport over my
6048. Is there any chimney clearence issue ? I think the top of the carport will by 12'6" ,and the top chimney is 13' 7".

Be careful, my neighbor did the same thing but made it a large wood structure. He has a heatmor and one day the blower was running when one of his employe's fill it. Guss what happened. It burned to the ground before the fire department got there. I know yours is metal but keeping wood that close to the boiler is asking for a fire, didn't you ever have hot sparks come out the door when you fill it?
