My OWB runs to my forced air furnace   It's been fine the last four years  now just before the OWB thermostat gets almost to temp it shuts off which it's still calling for heat so it turns on for 15 seconds and I hear the thermostat click now it's up to the desired temp now the furnace shuts off and stays off until the next call for heat like its suppose to like its short cycling           I changed the thermostat and thought it was good now it's doing it again with the new one. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Jack, I'm not sure I understand what's going on, you say the wood boiler is short cycling when the house is still calling for heat? Is the OWB up to the desired temp when this happens, what is the Aqua-stat on the boiler set at and can you turn it up a bit?

Let me reclarify    The OWB is fine.     My furnace thermostat in my house and my OWB thermostat are tied into each other when OWB thermostat calls for heat it turns on like its suppose too but fan kicks off before  it's reached my desired temp.   The  thermostat is still calling for heat it kicks back on for maybe 30 seconds then shuts off until the next call for heat. It's like the furnace blower is overheating before it gets to the desired temp. Hope this makes sense now

Sounds to me like the blower motor on the hot air unit is shutting off on thermal overload, check the amp draw when it is running, if it is drawing more than the data plate says it should, then it will need to be replaced, this should be done ASAP as in theory it could cause a fire!

Well I hope that doesn't happen.    What about this if I run the fan on. Position instead of auto.  And it continues to run for say a 10 minutes or so won't that tell me the blower motor is okay?

That would be one way if you don't have access to a ammeter. I think I'd try to borrow one if you don't have one. Simplest if you could borrow a clamp on one like a Fluke.

When it shuts off before it should, you hear the thermostat click? If that is happening then it is a thermostat problem, not a blower motor problem. If the fan switch is still connected, try setting it to fan on and see if it keeps running.

It does continue to run with the fan on position  not auto.  Is that what you are referring to right


I've ran it for a lot longer than it would run normally and no issues in the fan on position

How do you have them wired? It is definitely a thermostat problem. The second thermostat should be giving the furnace the exact same signal when it is calling for heat as turning on the fan switch.

RSI.   It's weird I haven't touched a thing in four years and now it's acting up here is some pictures of its wiring hopefully you can see good    By the way when I turn on the switch for the fan on the bottom thermostat it does nothing only the house thermostat makes it run in the on position.

Where does the white wire come from on the second thermostat? It is hard to see the pic on my phone.

Well my problem seems to be solved I had a bad relay on my furnace board (100 bucks for the new board)
Also I installed a zone valve like I should of in the first place to keep all that wasted heat out of my downdraft furnace when it's not running and off key furnace . components . Makes me happy when things are working right again and know what was going on. 
 
  I want to thank everyone especially RSI and Boilerman to get me headed in the right direction with my issue
