is there no admin. on this forum that can clean all this crap up?  If no one is checking in, why not give the power to one of the regulars?

Gentlemen,,,, the SPAMMER(s) are not people.  They are automated "Spam-Bots" (automated computer programs).  No real life person to blame other than the programmer. ;)

The admin should be able to tighten up new member signup with stiffer captcha.

I don't care where they come from.  It doesn't seem like it would be that hard to delete them.  The problem is no one has the power.  Also I am on other forums and have never seen this issue.

That's fine but you have to understand what they are (Spam-Bots) in order to prevent them.  ;)

Naturally Aspirated already posted one solution.  The new member signup/registration is "where they get in the house."  Until that security is tightened (via CAPTCHA and other means), get used to the spam.  No one wants to patrol the site for deleting those bogus threads.

I see adding the user to the ignore list doesn't remove the started threads, only posts within a thread.  Boo!

Doesn't take that long. Click "show unread posts" spam bots will show up every time. On the other site I help admin I click "show new content". If the admins miss something the members send us a PM.

Not sure we have any moderators, just one admin.

Click on "Members" above right under the site logo then click on "position". I've found one admin, and one global moderator that has "2" posts.

Sending the admin reports or PM's gets zero response. This is the only forum I know of which has such monitoring.

SMF software allows easy editing of spam bots. Just delete the user name and all associated posts.

Through admin/users/delete user  you will see this. Very simple

The admin can look at these posts to try and stop spammers from registering. Lots of different things here.
