  I wish I had a dime for every time I've been done cutting wood this summer! I have a problem and I'm not afraid to admit it! I can't turn down free wood. I've gone out on tree calls four times after I hit 12 chords! I can't stop!

We won't need any wood this year, going to be in the 60s all winter. It's called " the non polar vortex winter".  24 full cord on hand. Another 8 coming on Friday.

Perhaps a support group needs to be established to help you and others like you.  Maybe we can call it "Woodchuckers who can't stop"   :)  There may be government money in it for you.  Oh dang, now I'm the one who needs the help.  I beginning to sound like the libs I work with.   :P

Even tho I have nine cords of seasoned oak left at my stacked wood pile, (enough for 1 1/2 years), I'm still going to keep on my regimen of ordering 14 cords of oak logs every other year.

Im gonna have to buy my wood this year...Ive been picking up so many extra jobs doing construction i havent had time to split any. On the bright side I dont work as hard at earning the extra cash as I do cutting and splitting wood so it should be ok.

I bought 8 cords and may buy 4 more but I try not to let it set more than 3yrs.

I've bought large quantites before but always had rotten wood by the last year.

I have about 7 cords split and stacked and at least 7 more that still needs split.  I'm hoping to get my new stove going tomorrow.  This is the first year that I have actually had enough firewood to get me through an entire winter.

I have 18 and 1/2 cord sitting in on pallets in the field.  That should be enough for at least 2 and 1/2 to 3 seasons.  If the winters aren't that cold it'll last 3 seasons without any problems.  If it gets like it was this past year, I enough for 2 seasons without any trouble.  I need to order another grapple load soon, just to get it on my property so when I have time I can buck it up, split it and stack on pallets to sit in the field drying for about 2 years.

MattyNH - Do you know if the grapple loads have come down yet in price or is everything still going to the pulp mills at the exaggerated prices?   Roger
