I'm right there with you Roger, 5*F,-12 wind chill and toasty warm with our new HE-2100. Best thing I've done for our house in the 5 years since we bought it.

My house always seems warmer since I got the OWB...because I keep the house at a high temp! But, I probably take more pride than I should in warming the house by burning wood outside...very rewarding!

Hi,

Michigan here, we are single digits with below wind chill.  I will just say its been challenge...Mostly due to my own.  Drafty farm house, and trying to mix dry with green wood.. not getting the best results.  waiting on Greenridge blower option.  Natural draft not working well with my combination of wood.  Because of my wood, I have to open the door for awhile to get my temps up, constant struggle.

Nice to hear that you guys are staying warm too and not handing out your hard earned money to the oil/gas companies.

Got outside around 5:00am to outdoor temp of 0 degrees with a light breeze out of the north to stoke the OWB for the next 12 hours and still had a 1/2 log needing to be burned.  The firebox was between 1/2 and 2/3's full when I stoked it at 5:00pm last evening.  The house is still nice and toasty warm at 3:30am when I woke up.  I should mention that 70 degrees is toasty warm for me.  Anything warmer than that is too warm, I'm uncomfortable.  Oh, did I mention I'm heating over 4,000sqft and DHW in an 1840's farmhouse?  Roger

I still love my bl 28-40. The main difference from my other boiler is burn time. It says twelve hours and thats what you get. That blower system is amazing it comes up right now. Like someone is down there with a propane torch.

cold one here in Nova Scotia, woke up to -14 ,-24 with wind chill, filled last nite at 10 pm, checked it at 8am today, lil wood left but needed to refill,house is 74 upstairs and down,4000 sq feet no problem,gotta love wood....and my heatmaster, knock on wood.....

Man, I'd melt with inside temps that hot.  Phew!  I can feel the sweat on my brow as I type this response.     Glad to hear you're comfy though.  Roger

5 degrees this morning in Michigan, Loaded six pieces in the Hawken HE-2100 last night at 7:00pm and at 6:00am this morning had two partially burned rounds left and a nice bed of coals.  Kept the temp at 70 all night and no complaints from the family about a chilly wake up.  New to the OWF but absolutey love it and all the hot water that comes as a side benefit.

too funny Roger,thats what I thought to when I built the home,first winter was a learning curve or at least the first month, we have really high ceilings and a open concept so 70 71 was the first settings, however it grew to 73 74 for comfort, trust me its not sweltering in here, it feels like 70 however...must be the open concept I guess.....at least with wood we have the option eh...

6 deg here this morning house nice and toasty 75deg inside .. I'd say the best investment added 300 gallons propane in September as back up still have 350 gallon left burned very little with dryer and stove top furnace hasn't kicked on in idk how long lol hope it still works lmao...
