I'm on my first season with my bl2840 and I wish I should have bought bl3444. Mine has been fine but on really cold days would have been better to have the extra capacity. Also not sure if I would be able to connect a shop up since I'm maxing it out on my house when it gets really cold.

My 2840 has been a beast not one complaint. Awesome burn times, and still have 3 cord left.

 Congrats on the purchase.Mine has been great also but had planned on adding a shop/ business to the mix and not sure how well it  would handle it. Would be pushing the max output and really don't want to have to load every 6-8 hrs.

My 2840 has worked well. Heating 2800 house, plus basement. Shop is also online. 1700 more feet. Now,... Initially, I kept the stat in the shop at 55. I've experimented enough with my setup to know this...
1 - shop stat high, high wood usage, short burn times (BT).
2 - shop stat low (40), shop actually will stay above 40 even with below zero outside.  ~ 12 hour BT.
      Shop is a well constructed 2x6 blown insulation shop. To get shop to a comfortable 65 takes ~ 20 min.
3 - house stays ~ 75. Wife warm, everybody happy. Burning seasoned red oak and hickory.

I was afraid of a larger 3444 that would idle and creosote. My personal setup does not need the larger 3444.  I've burned out of a pile this year and estimate 8 rick since November 8, 2014. Wood shed being built this spring. Stay warm...

Do you have plans for your wood shed? I'm planning on doing something as well but don't have anything firmed up yet. Not sure if just going yo build racks of a shed with SIDS and a roof

No I don't, but I'll build a 3 sided with an overhang on the front.

I am new to this forum I am pretty close to buying a 3444 and cant wait for it to get cold as I love the weather and prefect for cutting wood at that time of year. My question to you is did finance it? I would prefer to not take 12k outta my savings?

Watt, I'm not sure if P&M offers financing or not, but a lot of times companies use a 3rd party financing company that will issue you a credit card.  Sometimes the rates are decent and sometimes they aren't.  It's possible that there are hidden fees as well but it really depends on who the financing is offered by.   

Have you looked into personal loans or a home equity line of credit?  My local credit union will offer 2.9% personal loans up to 72 mo as long as you have the funds available in your account.  If not, then the rates are around 7.9% which still isn't too bad.  It might be something worth checking in to.

Airforce, thanks I didnt even think about that as far as a personal loan or line of credit. Thanks that might be the best way to go if I cant stomach taking 12k out of savings

Personally I’d finance it, interest rates are still relatively low. I’ll look into selling a kidney before I’ll touch my savings or the IRA’s.
