Hello everyone, things are working good here,just a question tho, dropped in at the house during a back shift, went to check on furnace, the temp was 125 degrees, I was shocked, it was a cold night, I restocked the boiler and went back to work, when I got home at 7am ,furnace was back up to temp, house was 74 degrees upstairs and down, my only guess is that possibly all zones came on at once, anyways how bad is this for the boiler when this happens ...to me that seems to be a big drop when house call for heat all at once, and it prob happens from time to time, does this happen to everyone else too and is there a simple way to eliminate this besides turning on my electric furnace and running both and having the electric furnace come on when owb  drops too low....

We hit low alarm temperatures last year,,, breaking in the Boiler.
We're inexperienced now, but were super inexperienced last year
Anyway, no ill effects or damage,, noted.
The extra cold weather does it.[for us]
Now,, if its gonna get real cold,, I put extra wood in it.
Watch the weather forecasts .
We got it down now that I can estimate whithin an hour or two, when it's gonna puke out.
The backup is a good idea .
The aquastat kicks the propane on when the water temp gets to low.
I don't have as much going on as you, but that's my story.

Any significant drop in temperatures in your return line isn't necessarily a good thing but sometimes it can't be avoided.  One thing that could be done is to install a mixing valve at the stove.  It will lower your supply temps when all zones are calling for heat but it will prevent the shock of extremely low return temps.

Not sure either how bad it really is.  I get a bridge from wood a few times a year.  Wake up with plenty of wood and stove temp around 125.  I really don't see how bad it would be.
