I have a Ranco on my buffer tank for my geothermal and hasn't had any issues. The Johnson looks very comparable with maybe an extra feature or two. A wash if price is comparable too.

My vote would be for Johnson.  We've used them on all our sap pumps pumps for years and had no issues.  Not familiar with the Ranco but the adjustments on the Johnson are very easy.
