The time is just about here
« on: October 29, 2013, 04:44:23 AM »

Ok so here I am again but much closer to having a new heated home by an OWB boiler was dropped of last week a CB 5036, This is what I have so far, a basement w/o a floor hoping this week to be poured I do though have my vapor barrier, insulation and pex run as this is the same for the garage. Here is my queston (S)

I have 5 loops in the basement that run up the wall in the mechanical room, then I have 4 loops in the garage that run down the wall through a stub from the garage that comes directly over r the top of the basemet loops, this is the way the plumber said I should run it, now I was going to use Watts manifolds with the gauges and what you have in the but they only have  manifolds that enter from the bottom, so I would assume I would have to build my own. Not a big deal I just am not 100% sure of what all needs to be into it I was hoping someone could draw me a picture of what this manifold should consist of.

And since were on this topic I was hoping someone could also draw me a picture of how my system should get tied all together, I  have most the componets but again not sure what order they should go. It is a prssureized system that is headed with a plate exchanger. I would like to have the garage and the basement on separate zones obviously.  Thanks to any help I can get I seem to work well with pictures because this is till very new to me..  Jared

The supply and return on the Watts manifold should come in and return on the side, the heat loops should be on the bottom, suggestion, antifreeze the pressurized loops in the concrete, without a backup if you have a failure with the system you are going to freeze/crack the floor, if money is not a big issue, put a gas wall hung in as a backup, it is good insurance.

slimJim, plan is to pressurize garage and basement floor tubes with antifreeze. when I had my walls poured I had them put a sleave in the wall to the basement then when I ran my lines in the garage I ran all 8 (4loops) through the wall and down into the basement. My issue is now how do I hook them to a manifold coming overhead

You know, thats a great question, I really don't think it matters if it is installed upside down, I will check with my supply house tommorow if you like, just to be on the safe side.
