I guess I thought maybe there was something in the line up from a maker that would fit what I was thinking of other then a gasifiacation stove. a lumber yard that carries boilers and has a ml 30 portage and main. Im gonna run there Saturday and look at it. they also carrie wood master and crown royal boilers. guy told me wood master has a lifetime warrenty. guess ill see what they have.

If you are thinking about buying a Heiss boiler or a gasifer,  PLEASE do yourself a favor and contact me.  I can only hope to save you all the problems I've had with both. Not to say 10,000 dollars for a gasifer I bought or 3,000 for the boiler

Informer, Welcome aboard, part of the beauty of this forum is to attempt to educate folks about different wood burning stuff, would you care to elaborate, perhaps one of us could help you get along with your unit.

well I talked to informer on the phone today. I sounds like he really got a raw deal from heiss. Granted I haven't heard the side of the story from heiss. but I think im going to call and ask a few real good questions about service and most importantly warrenty. portage and main is gaining ground quick.

I agree slim. Informer seemed to be a honest guy but you would have to talk to him to get the whole story. But I also haven't talked to heiss to get their story which I will do and give them a chance to explain their side. I have heard of the boilers leaking from leakes where the copper was soldered together instead of running a complete piece of rolled soft copper. but I would still like to hear heiss side of the story. It honestly seems like a great concept maybe just needs refind I don't know.

Just got on this again.  Sent a message to slimjim, might have been to his e- mail, I really don't know how to use this yet.  I did read slims message'. "Our goal is to bring the reputation of ALL OWB's up larger market more sales.". I think someone's reputation isn't something that slim can bring up.  I might be wrong " look at the boilers I bought" they alone prove I can be wrong.  You build your own reputation buy having a good product, yes there can be problems with the product.  That is when customer service comes in. After you admit you had a problem and take care of it.   That is when "YOU" as a person and company start to build your reputation.
I don't really know what you were trying to say by larger market, more sales.  The problems i incountered with my gasifer and the service i got could do nothing but leave a ------ taste in someones mouth.  This could only benefit maybe a company like yours that has "BUILT" their reputation on a good product, good service, good customer relationships.  I can't see  this helping the Heiss industry at all.

I know this isn't possible, but I would love to be at the shop or talk on a three way line with the both of you, when you ask him the questions you need too ask. 

You don't have to make it your goal to bring up the reputation of a company and get caught up in "more sales"  Just buy ONE  that you will be satisfied with and will last you for years.

I would concentrate on the quality of the unit, if you need to make a Warranty claim you already have problems.

Sometimes a Warranty can limit your options and in any event is only as good as the financial capacity of the organisation providing it.
