Just wondering if a thin even coating of creosote, about a fingernail thickness, bad for mild steel water jackets of owb's when outdoor day temps are in 50's & 60's F for 3 or 4 weeks stretch at a time? I load up 3 or 4 pieces of dry oak in the morning & same amount in the evening.

One more creosote question, does this paper thin creosote really need to be scraped off when we shut the owb down for the summer, as long there aren't thick globs of it in the corners & crevices? Thanks.

It's the thick stuff in the corners on a regular boiler I would be concerned about, I don't think you will find it in the B-L, let us know in the spring!

Trimmed mine a few times last winter. Came in and my wife says what the heck did you do.

Can water make it to the firebox when these stoves are shutdown and its raining?

No, it would have to turn horizontally into the stainless tee then through the 3'rd pass, 180 degrees turn back to the rear and then drop vertically down past the heat trap, I don't see it happening, it would have to be an awful lot of rain!!!!!

I know but it would be hard to talk the misses into another when last year was close to the first season with mine.
